This post is inspired by the (fake) version of Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows that is floating around everywhere on the wild wild web and my gratitude goes to who ever wrote it as I sincerely believe Rowling herself wouldn’t have done a better job with it.
Evidently love is the topic that is currently in numero-uno position of topics that has been discussed,is being discussed and will be discussed until mankind cease to exist. So what makes this post different, well I believe there is a dearth of people who approach it in the sense I intend to and I am sick of all the stupid things they show on movies and soaps these days.
What keeps a members of same gender or of different genders together has long been a mystery so as the primary reason for the existence of mankind or earth or solar system or the universe. Let me make a classification here i.e love between people of same gender and love between people of different genders.
(Note: If you have been thinking about dirty 3 letter words, I may advise you quit reading this now as the content I can boldly declare is deemed inappropriate for you)
Case 1 : Love between people of same gender (i.e a boy n a boy or a girl n a girl)
Please don’t laugh at me,for it may sound preposterous, is commonly referred to as friendship. The reason I classify it as love is that it shares many a common things with category 2. Friendship doesnt spark up in a day or two and if it does it isn’t one. Friendship incorporates into it a lot of things. It is that feeling of knowing there is somebody who cares for you,who loves you. It is that mutual understanding and willingness to help without being asked for. It is that feeling of having a sibling. It is that responsibility to ensure your friend does nothing wrong.It is that ability to be there at times of distress to share the grief.It is that reassuring look, gentle squeeze on the shoulder or a gentle pat on the back when necessity arises. It is the open mindedness and ability to ask for advise or help without hesitation.It is the hearty feeling of happiness when your friend succeeds without jealousy.
No matter how many “It is” ’s I add, everything can be put under the one magical word love. There is a dialouge in “One night @ call centre” by Chetan Bhagat relating to this aspect which I liked so much. It goes below
” I don’t know why people just dont say it. You are allowed to say ’I am hungry, I need some more food’ but not ‘I need some more love’ “.
So very true, why can’t we just it aloud. The society isn’t going to accept it nor isn’t my mom 
.
Case 2 : Love between people of different genders
If the category 1 has been interpreted as frienship in this society , this category this the most interpreted and people go to any measures to fall in it. I am no expert in speaking of this category. What goes here are strictly my private views that has never been influenced by the society.
As I mentioned earlier, this category has everything of “It is” ’s of the previous one. So how is it different. Speaking of it, this is why I had to mention Harry Potter and his relationship with Ginny in the book. Though one can having eternal happiness being in contact with people of same gender, it is the inherent psychology of humans that makes it easier for a person to seek solace in a person of opposite gender. Dont believe me!!, well it is true and its universally true. You may not realise this at first but it takes time and a lot of reading literally and figuratively to accept it.
For instance take Potter, there are instances in book where he melts in shoulders of Ginny and he feels he can do absolutely anything if she is on his side. There are certain things one cannot share with even their closest of friends and can be shared only with ones love. It is that thing which distinguishes friendship and love. It is that feeling that makes life complete. If that is the part I liked in the book, the part I din’t like is the silly scenes of snogging and etc. I just dont know when people understand there just can be love and love alone without anything else.
